Artist Statements "Complex Made Simple"
Complexity can often be found in the simple things. In fact, we often mistake the ordinary things of life such as bags and boxes as mundane. But it is by taking a closer look at these basic items such as shipping bags, decorated boxes, and packages, that we find intricacy and beauty. Each package has sublime texture, unique lines, and voluminous shapes that evoke our interest and inspire introspection. Each simple item is unique and has a story to tell, and each holds something special inside. It is in the anticipation of revealing what's inside the package that evokes the most excitement, and becomes the metaphor. Life may seem ordinary, but when delving deeper, it is a journey which unfolds and becomes an amazing surprise.
