Each print is printed on acid-free, semi-glossy, high -quality paper.  The monoprint process is done by adding paint medium and inclusions to a gelli-plate printing press.  Designs, stamps, stencils and tools are used in the mark-making process to create a unique design in the paint on the gelli plate.  Paper is then layed onto the painted/marked plate and then pulled off in a "pull" and you then have a monoprint on your paper.  Many times, there is still paint and marks left on the plate but the quantity an shape of the marks has now changed.  In addition, new paint, often in contrasting colors is then added to empty spots on the plate such that a new "pull' will pull a completely new design.

Each monoprint is original and can never be replicated.  Sometimes the most complex monoprints are created with the most simple means, and sometimes the simplest monoprint is far more complex than you think!  Regardless, they are all wonderful artistic creations!
