Artist Inspiration for "A Bag Full Of"

There is a certain intrigue that is created when looking at the simplicities of life when we begin to realize that the mundane is not so elementary at all.  It is then when we begin to open our eyes and notice that something as simple as the bags that we buys things in are just as charming as the items that we purchase in them!  And it is in the promise and element of the surprise and the waiting and the wondering of the contents that holds the most anticipation.  Nothing seems more exciting than the revealing of the prize inside.  Full of color, character, and promise, these bags will charm you and add an enormous colorful & textural pop to any bedroom, living room, office, or store.  What's in your bag?  Read Artist Statement and Artist Biography for more.   

Media

Created with mixed media, these bags were first sketched from a live still-life-staging in charcoal before color was added in acrylic paint that blends with the charcoal.  Kim uses her artistic vision to embellish the bags to propel them into their fullest expression.  Black and white textural components were then added from paper and fabric to complete the third stage.  Once the unique elements were adhered with medium, acrylic paint was then mixed and blended in to unify the painting with the added elements to create one unique statement.
