Seed pearls are basically teeny-tiny baby small pearls or infant pearls.  Because they are so small, they can be clustered together to form different forms and pieces.  The beauty of seed pearls is that they require many woven together to form a complete piece of jewelry, and therefore, there are many points of light reflection.  The results are stunning and luminous as each little seed pearl twinkles with light flickering about!  When combined with artisan techniques of weaving the pearls together, you create a stunning look that resembles filigree.
