Passion Fruit
“Passion Fruit,” a flowering tropical vine, known as Passiflora, grows in warm climates including South America, Australia, South Africa, and India, derived its name from Spanish conquistadors who saw the plant’s distinctly shaped flower as a symbol of Christ’s crucifixion. They carried the symbolic plant back to Europe and its popularity spread throughout the world.  The passion fruit contains a soft pulp and lots of seeds inside a hard rind that is either sweet or sour but very exotic tasting and distinct in many ethnic cuisines and drinks. People can eat the seeds and pulp, juice it, or add it to other juices.  While the passion fruit originated in South America it is now grown in different tropical and subtropical countries around the world.  Brazil is the number one country where passion fruits are eaten and they are highly integrated into the culture, music, cuisine, and wine.

Patchouli
Patchouli is a species of flowering plant in the family Lamiaceae, also known as the mint or deadnettle family. Patchouli grows like a shub or perennial herb, with stiff stems that grow up to 2.5 feet high and which produce small, baby-pink-white flowers that resemble flowers of lavender.  Once Patchouli is harvested, is is dried then distilled to capture the luscious aromatic essential oils which also have many healing properties.  Patchouli oil has a distinct scent that some might describe as woody, sweet, earthy, or grounding.  It’s earthiness is rich, but it affords it the ability to be mixed with flowery or fruity scents to balance out their floral/fruity notes creating a truly wonderful blend.  This is the case of our Sweet Grace.  When blended properly, patchouli is extremely heavenly and relaxing, and is precisely the reason Patchouli is often used in candles, perfumes, and incense.  You’ll love the meditative, religious experience you have when you invoke the exotic and perfectly matched blend of our patchouli in our Sweet Grace Line of products.
