Crafted by local artist, Kimberly Franklin, these amazing original bangles are blissfully handmade from polymer clay from start to finish.  Paint is not a used at ALL to create these pieces as each intricate design is literally “built” into the clay, and will not wear off like paint.  Each specialty cuff is also exceptionally durable, as polymer clay is chemically made of the same material as PVC pipe.  It’s rugged!  You’ll be amazed how strong these fashionable bangles can be, and you’ll enjoy many years of use!  They are easy to clean as well!  To Clean:  Just wipe clean with a damp cloth and use NO soap or chemicals.

The sleek, curved doughnut (“donut”) shape of these designer bangles are quite elegant, and they often make a beautiful statement.  Don’t be surprised when you get numerous compliments in a day, and when people ask to feel them.  They will, this we can assure you!  The rounded surface of these handmade bangles is truly unique, and we polish the cured clay with a jeweler’s buffing wheel to bring them to a lovely shine.  They are smooth, silky, colorful, and sophisticated.  They are truly a real treat and an authentic piece of art. 

THE CURVED DESIGN

This rounded style of bangle is a popular trend as of late, but it also looks so lovely with many outfits with the smooth rounded edges.  To get this marvelous effect, artist Kimberly Franklin crafts these by hand from a mold she developed herself.  First she shapes the base and cures it to create the shape.  Once the base is made, she designs the clay veneer which is essentially like a clay fabric.  Then each design is carefully and skillfully built into the clay and is NOT painted on with paint.  Each veneer then covers the base form and is sealed before curing.  The results are spectacular, fashionable, fun, and durable.  The design will never EVER wear off!

HOW WE SHAPE THE BANGLE

Our lovely bangles are made in the medium Polymer Clay which is literally a plastic made from the same material as PVC.  It is an amazing medium and a favorite of our artist Kimberly Franklin because of its durable properties.  Each bangle is shaped by forms and tools that she designs exclusively for her bangles.  Once the form has cured, raw clay is manipulated and designed to create amazing designs that will be used as a veneer on the cured form.  Each design is built into the clay with colored clay, not paint.  That creates a beautiful design that will never wear off or fade. Once each veneer is cured, then the bangle is sanded & polished by buffing on a jewelers wheel to bring out a lovely smooth luster & shine.  They are beautiful to the viewer and they feel amazing to the wearer.
